The license states that anyone can:

Some rather exciting news:
Dark Alley Pt. II went through a polish and is ready to hit the road.
I've also made a little preview of a song I'm working on, it's a very spacey thing and I'm pretty excited how things are going with it so far.
I got a Last.fm musician profile set up as well, so if you feel intrigued, you can tag the music or vote for the pic. Anyways, from now on, all of the finished tracks will end up only on Last.fm, since I don't have much space left on my shite server. The not finished preview tracks will still be downloadable from here.

I'm used to Pat Metheny's face antics while performing on-stage, but for this one, I was truly not prepared.

The guitar Pat is playing is a Pikasso I made for him by Canadian luthier Linda Manzer. If you want to know how it sounds like, then watch this short performance.

New iMac

Apple released the new iMac! The looks are the most drastic changes, as the specifications remain almost the same.
As for my opinion, I liked the previous model better, since I'm not that much into black borders :)

The standard keyboard was also replaced by a much smaller and thinner one and looks exactly like the one on standard Macbooks. This is a big pro in my opinion, since the keyboard on the Macbook rocks!

As you probably know (or don't), I've got some Sonic Mayhem covers at my YouTube profile and today, I was introduced to the US band Nordin by one of their band members.
They made a rather impressive medley of Sonic Mayhem songs called Stroggicide.

So, with three of four songs nearing completion, I've given a thought about what to do next.
Well, with my computing roots lying in the great, great Commodore 64, I've decided to make a SID anthology of sorts, much like those made by Machinae Supremacy.
If you are one of the unlucky ones who didn't have the pleasure of making acquaintance with the "Brotkasten", you can always download Sidplay2/w for Windows and then search for the tunes at the HVSC search site.

The game soundtracks going to be rearranged are:
Hawkeye
Last Ninja Remix
Myth
Turrican
Outrun
Winzer
and if it all works out, X-Out as well.

This one is going to be a real challenge, since merging those seemingly incompatible tunes together ain't no easy job. Winzer may end up as a separate song.

I've also got a work-in-progress song more in the nature of Lounge Lizard, it's a rock gulash build up on the G bebop scale, which gives it a nice jazzy edge. Hope it'll rock your world.. for at least a week or so ;)
And of course, Menzoberranzan has to be seriously stretched. I've been thinking about some repetetive patterns here and there and avoiding soloing as much as possible :)

A stroke of inspiration

The very first entry is going to be fruitful for both sides: you, the reader, as you will have the opportunity to either praise or laugh at what you'll about to hear, and for me, the writer, because I'll hopefuly get feedback from you.

Anyways, I've got this new music project going on called Lounge Lizard. As for the name, please don't ask why I called it that way. There's a chance it was burned into my brain while playing for the fourtieth time Leisure Suit Larry or whatnot. Who knows, and then again, who cares?
The next few songs are a result of filtering musical ideas of doubtful quality to pen and paper. The process was pretty spontaneous, no inspiration by other bands was present. For now, that is.

Every song is downloadable in its full glory and free of charge. Just sit back, let it play and don't get mad.

1. Dark Alley Adventures, Part I [3:42]
About 90% completed
The first song is a mellow, minimalistic synth piece in a Vangelis / Eno manner. Used are natural minor, locrian and other modes over a C major scale. The end of the song counts of the inhaling of cigarette smoke, which blends into..

2. Smoke In the Lungs [1:08]
About 90% completed
This piece is a faster paced little rock song in A minor with added chromatics for that little 'cool' effect which adds to the mood. The lenght is appropriate; it just goes off, smacks you a few times in the face and ends right there. Changes will include a more prominent bass and a few minor stuff to the drums.

3. Menzoberranzan [1:54]
About 20% completed
A lot of tuning is in order with this one. The guitar tone of the intro is going to be replaced by a sitar sound, providing a more eastern flavour. The main riff stays the same, except getting stretched out and then replaced by more riffage in a different tempo in the process. Oh, the key is E phrygian.

4. Dark Alley Adventures, Part II [3:02]
About 80% completed
The second part of night-time street wandering music.
I'm going to change a few ambient sounds and samples, like the water splashes at the beginning and the rain at the end. It's all just about playing minor stuff over a Asus2 chord. Everyone loves sus chords, including you. And no objections!

I hope the current state of the songs gave you at least a bit enjoyment.
